Dr. Hartman earned her Ph.D. in the field of Educational Psychology and has worked in special education for over 30 years. Highly respected, she is well-reputed for being child-centered. Beginning her career as a school psychologist, she later established a part-time private practice. As a licensed psychologist, she has worked under the auspices of neuropsychologists and became an Associate Scientist at Haskins Laboratory, focusing on dyslexia. Upon returning to public schools full-time, she transitioned from school psychologist to Director of Special Education. However, she returned to her passion of working directly with children of all ages (preschool to young adult). Utilizing her extensive experience as a psychologist, she clearly identifies the educational and social/emotional needs of students. While Dr. Hartman assesses in all areas of suspected disability, she specializes in personality assessments and dyslexia. Her experience as a Director of Special Education brings an added layer of knowledge about special education processes, procedures, and law. She is keenly focused on fostering a highly collaborative approach that is in the best interest of the child.
