Dr. Hartman, Ph.D., is a Connecticut licensed psychologist with specialized training in clinical neuropsychology. She maintains a private practice and also provides neuropsychological evaluation services as a consulting neuropsychologist with The Krasner Institute and Krasner Adolescent Institute. Dr. Hartman conducts comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults, helping individuals, families, schools, and treatment providers better understand each person's unique cognitive, academic, behavioral, social, and emotional profile.
Dr. Hartman has particular expertise in neurodevelopmental disorders, including dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and other learning differences. Her work as an Associate Scientist at Haskins Laboratories further deepened her expertise in reading development and dyslexia. In addition, she is highly experienced in personality assessment, differential diagnosis, case conceptualization, and the integration of complex clinical information into clear, comprehensive diagnostic reports. She also has advanced training in the evaluation of neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injury, dementia, and other neurodegenerative disorders.
Dr. Hartman earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and completed postdoctoral training in Clinical Neuropsychology through Fielding Graduate University, followed by advanced clinical training at Neuropsychology Consultants in Connecticut. She also holds advanced certification in School Psychology and has been a Connecticut-certified school psychologist since 1995.
With more than 30 years of experience in psychology, special education, and educational leadership, Dr. Hartman brings a unique perspective to the evaluation process. She began her career as a school psychologist before serving in leadership roles as a special education administrator and later as Director of Special Education. These experiences provided extensive knowledge of special education services, eligibility processes, educational programming, and educational law, allowing her to effectively partner with families and schools to translate evaluation findings into meaningful educational recommendations.
Known for her thoughtful, collaborative, and child-centered approach, Dr. Hartman strives to ensure that every evaluation results in practical answers and meaningful recommendations. She works closely with families, educators, physicians, and treatment providers to identify strengths, clarify areas of need, and develop targeted supports that promote academic achievement, emotional well-being, and long-term success.
Dr. Hartman's goal is not only to identify an individual's strengths and areas of need, but also to provide practical recommendations that help children, adolescents, and adults thrive at home, in school, at work, and within their communities.
